Before Departing to Binus University - visa issues

Hi again..

Applying visa is quite complicated huh..

To apply visa at Kedutaan Jenderal Indonesia, Pulau Tikus, P. pinang..sgt dkt ngn adventist hospital. Kalau naik rapid, jumpa je adventist, trus trun kat situ..jalan trus je, die sebelah sebelah je Hospital Adventist.

1) pastikan ada gmbar passport berlatar belakang warna merah. Buatla extra atau mesti ada soft copy, kalau ttbe nk pakai utk hal2 lain leh guna.

2) visa boleh apply dari 9pgi-12tgh hari. amik borang cepat2, takya g kaunter, g kat ade sorang laki duduk kat bhgian belakang dlm pejabat tu, amik borang kat die. Dah isi, completekan dan hantar (sy kurang faham masa nak isi, tanyala orang yang jaga kat belakang tu mcam mana nk isi, kalau tak pasti jangan main hentam, tanya kat kaunter bila nak hantar borang yang da complete tu).

Jangan lupa bawak gam. Kalau tak bawak menapaklah pegi shopping mall berdepan ngn Kedutaan tu cari kat kedai2 gmbar. Dah hantar, nanti diorang bagi resit, simpan resit tu utk collect esokny. (p/s: borang tu kena hantar dgn passport, jgn lupa, nnt diorang simpan passport tu utk print visa dalam passport tu)

3) collection boleh ambil keesokan harinya, datang jam 2 petang. Paling lewat 4-5 petang macam tu. (p/s: kedutaan ramai sangat org, sebab org indonesia banyak nk blk, org malaysia buatkan passport utk pekerja..jadi baik datang awal)

4) buat passport ni kejap je. dah siap, kena scan utk simpanan. Kena hantar muka depan passport dan salinan visa kepada pegawai International Office di Binus untuk rujukan diorang.

Hostels in Binus University

This information is specially designated for Malaysian students who would like to go for exchange programme in Bina Nusantara University or we always called as Binus University.

Regarding to the hostel, there are some options that you may take:
1) Binus Hall of residence - with good security, beautiful swimming pool, access to internet, have some boarders activities (band, movies screening and many more), internet room, reading room, convenient shop (quite similar service that 7Eleven offers), high-end saloon, and printing/photocopy and stationaries shop, shuttle to binus campuses, varieties of food option at the food court, surau for muslims and muslimah, sharing toilets at the end of the level but convenient.

2- other private hostels - some are offering houses - but very expensive compared to malaysia house standard for rent especially for students (it may cost you around 3million Rupiah/ +- 900RM, some are apartments just nearby the campuses. If you would like to move into the apartment nearby, I suggest that you stay in Hall of Residence before you move into the hostel you prefer. Through internet, you can't have much access to the right and best hostel at designated area with ease of transportation.

Masters application in USM

Here is some advices for those students who want to pursue their higher education at Universiti Sains Malaysia.

2. For research basis, you can apply at any time throughout the year while for coursework, the dateline so far usually on March 31 for the September intake.
3. Coursework of Research would be easy for you?
- well..some people say that coursework would be easier due to has a valid guideline, that is your text book, but as you can see, even though it's just the same topic being thought, the Masters enforces more on application of those theories. In USM, based on my experiences, it's not that easy for you to get an A for any subject. Work hard and smart would lead to success in your studies.
- hey! how about research ah? people keep on saying it's a tougher one compared to by coursework. Yes, certainly, course your marks is only depending on your findings, results, and the most important is your VIVA. But not to worry, as you put in effort to make sure that you follow the guidelines given, your research has significant contribution, keeps update every month, I think there shall no problem to pass the VIVA. It's NOT as tough as coursework! You know why? It's due to, you just to put in effort for a topic, and not needed to crack out again the whole chapters in the textbook..
